Dean Porter Chief Financial Officer/ALTAR Co.

Dean has over 20 years of Fortune 500 company leadership experience in operations, finance, and planning.

From a CPA position at Coopers & Lybrand, Dean moved into a long and fruitful role with NIKE. In his career there, Dean led virtually every aspect of Nike’s complex apparel supply chain and financial operations. Since then Dean has been involved with start-ups including a 4 year stint as CFO with apparel retailer Nau.

Dean began his career at NIKE as Director of Finance and IT for USA Apparel. During his tenure as Finance Director, Nike apparel restructured as a separate business unit, growing revenue by 100 percent in the first year. As Apparel Supply Chain Director, Dean led and managed Demand Planning, Inventory Management, and Sourcing and Product Creation Operations for Nike’s $1B USA Apparel division. In this role, he managed a staff of over 50 people, implementing a broad-based supply chain process and systems reengineering that included all operational product planning and execution processes. The ROI for these efforts was over 24 percent.

Most recently, Dean was CFO at an apparel start-up in Portland, Nau. Nau became nationally recognized for breaking paradigms across the multiple dimensions of fashion-forward sustainable outdoor/lifestyle apparel, blurring the lines between web and traditional retail, and customer directed philanthropy.
